David Newsom is an actor and photographer living in Los Angeles . A graduate of the Ithaca College Film Production program, he worked in film & rock videos in New York City before finally landing in LA.

He lives with his girlfriend, writer/director Siân Heder . his dog Burt, and their cat, Freak.

I use both 35mm and medium format cameras, and I have learned to shoot with idiosyncratic, often bad toy cameras. I print exclusively on Epson archival printers to Hahnemuehle cotton rag paper. The digital workspace is a critical component of my "look", but having said that, I don¹t really add or subtract too much. Mostly, I wait until the light is doing what I need it to do and shoot. Also, I¹d be remiss if I didn¹t say that Hugh, Anna and Danny at Digital Fusion here in Culver City, CA have been very instrumental in coaxing out all that¹s in my images. After years of working alone, I¹m really enjoying collaborating on my work.
